The operating principle of cold mixing
Cold mixtures are used mostly for road maintenance projects and are solutions for road bases or surface layers changed with waterproofing characteristics and a more flexible mechanical behavior. These mixtures are produced from mineral aggregates and asphalt emulsion or diluted asphalt with specially designed equipment since the mix is spread and compacted cold. The aggregates are also not heated.
The mixture follows its own dimensioning methods and is produced in simplified plants without the existence of dryers. With this type of mixtures it is possible to store it during a certain time period.
CIBER's cold plants are designed to produce all the types of cold stabilized mixtures such as gravel, gravel with cement, soil-gravel, soil-lime, cold pre-mix, and RCC (rolled compacted concrete), and all of them complying with precise formulations.
