Ciber receives Export Award
Half of Ciber’s sales comes from exports. “Our line of products is diversified and customized in order to operate in a wide range of terrains and under very adverse weather conditions, either in extremely high places such as the Andes mountain range, in inhospitable regions like Ushuaia in the south of Latin America, or in very hot places such as the Sahara desert,” explains Walter Rauen, Director-President. In Latin America, for instance, the company counts on 13 reps to provide customers with commercial, service, assistance and spare parts (after sales) support.
Four years ago Ciber entered the African market based on a sound sales policy whose results can be measured today by the number of operating equipment: over 40 machines that are working to make and to maintain roads. The largest volume of exports accounts for equipment used for preparing bases and producing asphalt mixture, which can be found in a number of countries, such as Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Venezuela, Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama, Mexico and Africa (Algeria, Angola, the Republic of Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Lesotho, Libya, Tanzania and South Africa).
Ciber, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in May 2008, also adds functional design and develops machines that respect the environment. “We do a lot of research to deliver products which meet the needs of the market. The results from our research can be seen, for instance, in the 15 patents registered by Ciber, most of which are for asphalt plants,” says the Director-President.
