The HD CompactLine from HAMM: Versatile, compact and cost-effective
The HD CompactLine has been a mainstay of the HAMM AG programme for many years. The compact rollers are exceptionally agile and manoeuvrable, and their “wasp-waist” front section offers unrivalled visibility. With a constantly growing number of equipment options and environment-friendly engines, the series remains at the cutting edge in 2016.
The articulated compact rollers in the HD CompactLine, with operating weights between 1.4 and 4.5 t, are real all-rounders for asphalt construction, earth work as well as landscaping and gardening.
The compact machines offer tremendous side clearance, which allows compaction right up to obstacles such as house walls and curbs. Thanks to their outstanding agility, the compact tandem rollers impress in particular on small construction sites, where they can compact roadbeds and base courses as well as standard and special asphalts. Another area of application is the compaction of non-cohesive surfaces such as gravel, chippings or sand in landscaping and gardening. The low machine height and good handling deliver other important benefits. Last but not least, the modern Kubota engines ensure quiet and efficient compaction.
Oscillation technology, too, has now been introduced in this series, enabling the advantages of this gentle and efficient compaction technology to be brought to bear in the compact class as well. This opens up new areas of application in city centres, for repair work and also in landscaping and gardening. There are four models with oscillating drums (HD 10 VO, HD 12 VO, HD 13 VO and HD 14 VO). Accordingly, the HD CompactLine rollers are available in three versions: as vibration, oscillation or combi rollers. The HD 14 is also available as a fully fledged rubber-wheeled roller.
The HD 14, in particular, is suitable for both minor and major construction projects. Thanks to the large roller drum diameter and a very high centrifugal force, its compaction performance matches that of rollers in the 7 t class. Especially in the version with driver’s cab, this makes it a good alternative to traditional medium weight tandem rollers and a valuable addition to any machine fleet.
Moreover, HAMM offers numerous new options for the HD CompactLine, such as drum edge lighting, collapsible scrapers and precision chip spreaders. Optionally, the HD CompactLine rollers from 3.5 t operating weight (HD 13 and HD 14) can also be outfitted with a full panoramic cabin.
And the HD CompactLine rollers boast yet another advantage: easy transport. The rollers with operating weights of up to 3 t can be easily loaded using a central suspension point on the grab handle – even onto small transport vehicles. This saves time and is really straightforward.
